My Story
Bio: Dr Gabriel Altit completed his medical school at McGill University, followed by his Pediatric and Neonatology residencies at Université de Montréal. He pursued his training at McGill (Montreal Children’s Hospital [MUHC]) in echocardiography scanning. Following that, he did a post-doctoral research training in the pediatric ECHO laboratory at Stanford University. He completed a MSc in Epidemiology at McGill (2017-2020). He joined back McGill University and the Montreal Children’s Hospital as a Neonatologist in October 2017. Since his appointment as clinician- scientist at the MUHC-RI, he has created the NeoCardioLab (www.neocardiolab.com). In 2020, he launched the Neonatal Hemodynamics Clinical Research Fellowship at McGill, for which he is the program director, with ECHO techniques applied to research questions. Further, the NeoCardioLab application is now available on IPhone, Ipad and Android. It offers numerous educational resources and is used by experts in the field daily, throughout the world. He is now funded by the FRQS, as a Clinician Scientist Junior 1.

Dr. Gabriel Altit a complété ses études de médecine à l’Université McGill, puis ses résidences en pédiatrie et en néonatologie à l’Université de Montréal. Il a poursuivi sa formation en échocardiographie à McGill (Hôpital de Montréal pour enfants [CUSM]). Par la suite, il a effectué une formation en recherche postdoctorale au laboratoire d’échocardiographie pédiatrique de l’Université Stanford. Il a obtenu une maîtrise en épidémiologie à McGill (2017-2020). Il est retourné à l’Université McGill et à l’Hôpital de Montréal pour enfants en tant que néonatologiste en octobre 2017. Depuis sa nomination en tant que clinicien-chercheur au Centre de recherche du Centre universitaire de santé McGill, il a créé le NeoCardioLab (www.neocardiolab.com). En 2020, il a lancé le programme de formation (fellowship) en recherche clinique sur l’hémodynamie néonatale à McGill, dont il est le directeur du programme, avec des techniques d’échocardiographie appliquées à des questions de recherche. De plus, l’application NeoCardioLab est désormais disponible sur iPhone, iPad et Android. Elle propose de nombreuses ressources éducatives et est utilisée quotidiennement par des experts du domaine du monde entier. Il est maintenant financé par le FRQS en tant que boursier clinicien-chercheur junior 1.
