My Story

Dr. Shelly-Ann Williams Dakarai is a neonatal intensive care physician, working in central PA. 

Dr. Dakarai was born and grew up in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a multi-island nation in the Eastern Caribbean. She completed medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada then returned to St. Vincent and the Grenadines where she worked for two years in the local healthcare system. Following this, Dr. Dakarai pursued pediatric residency training at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse NY. She then completed her fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Dakarai also holds a Master in Public Health degree in the area of Health Service Policy and Management. Dr. Dakarai is passionate about global health and loves to facilitate connections and collaborations. She is one of the co-founders of the non-profit organization Caribbean Health Collaborative, whose mission is to improve health and advance healthcare across the Caribbean through education, innovation, and collaboration. Dr. Darkari enjoys hanging out with her husband and daughter and going on trips together.
