My Story
Dr. Mariana González de Oliveira is a professor of Neonatal Medicine at Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre. Her research interests are neonatal nutrition, human milk and breastfeeding preterm infants. She coordinates the University Extension Program "Science for Mothers" and is currently working with the incorporation of digital media and science communication in medical teaching. She works as a senior consultant at the NICU of Hospital Moinhos de Vento, currently responsible for the Neonatal Fellow Program.
Dr. Mariana was born and raised in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil and completed her Medical, Pediatric, Neonatal and Master's degree at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She then obtained her phD at PUCRS. When not in the NICU or at the Uni, you can find her reading a book by the river or exploring old vinyl stores with her husband and two children."
Dra. Mariana González de Oliveira é professora de Neonatologia na Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). Pesquisadora na área de nutrição neonatal, leite materno e amamentação de prematuros. Coordenadora do Programa de Extensão "Ciência na Maternidade", trabalhando com a incorporação de mídias digitais na educação em saúde e na comunicação científica. Também atua como intensivista neonatal no Hospital de Moinhos Vento, onde é preceptora da residência de pediatria e do fellow de neonatologia.
Dra. Mariana nasceu e cresceu em Porto Alegre, RS. Graduada em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, onde também fez sua residência em pediatria, neonatologia e mestrado. Completou seu doutorado em pediatria na PUCRS. Quando nâo está na UTI ou na UFCSPA, costuma ser encontrada lendo um livro na beira do Rio Guaíba ou explorando lojas de discos de vinil com seu marido e seus filhos.
